All these little gestures feel huge when they arrive so unexpectedly, though not unwelcome. There it is again--the feeling of the circuit connecting up, making his throat momentarily tight and his skin warm, rendering him momentarily unable to act. But he doesn't yank his hand back, doesn't try to tear his eyes away. Every time something like this happens the fear becomes less and less about the acts and more that he is just going to wake from it.
